hey YOU!
really fond of that greeting. almost like just picking up in the middle of a conversation.
sooo many greetings. what's up, Nameste (is a greeting too, right?), howdy, hi, hello, greetings, hi THERE, etc.
Then there's the farewells. always been tricky for me, ESPECIALLY in person. take care, warm hugs, PEACE (seems so cold and ordinary at times, yet SO important!), chau (thanks and don't bother checking the spelling!), nameste, of course, till the next time, talk to you later, later, catch u on the flip siiiiide, goodbye, etc. WHY on earth do i stress so much! I love to make em all personalized and in the moment. OK, I got issues.
all caught up in expression and all. the writer's dilemma? Or...the overthinking virgo. guilty!
It appears sometimes that it is the saying goodbye is the toughest one. We certainly don't want anyone with the impression we aren't going to not get together. And...if we don't, not because we don't care. oh boy...

Help

“You say goodbye and I say hello.” Grins.
Nah…I don't think you got issues…only the bunny does…and then he gets time out…poor guy, hmm? But i love the “Hey you” greeting best of all… In fact I think I overuse it at times…(god, it better not become an endangered phrase….I can't live without it…lol) but when I say “hey you” it means that no one exist but the person I am greeting… and I at one time entertained the thought that I must have invented the phrase but then only last year, Madonna did a song called “hey you.” I gotta think up a new one…and fast. lol
Well…this is a unique topic to blog about… except for that beatles song….I don't think anyone has ever done a piece on “hello and goodbye.” So the credit for this “point of origin” goes to you :-)
Amy :-)
I thought I'd find my shadow here in never neverland.
OK…so I'm not so original. yes. the bunny DOES have issues. Is SHE ready for a longer timeout these days! I always loved the timeouts standin with my nose in a corner. Does that constitute child abuse. retroactively?
Nope, NOBODY, BUT NOBODY should ever cover for the Beatles!!
hmmm….hey jude? hey you?
bunny in time out ;-)
hey you!!!! (my phrase, but you can borrow it)
